Winter Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 leeks, thinly sliced
    8 potatoes, quartered
    4 carrots, thinly sliced
    2 oz. butter or margarine or 2 Tbsp. oil
    2 chicken cubes
    2 tsp. powdered vegetable broth
    salt and pepper to taste
    8 to 10 c. water
Preparation
    Cook leeks until glossy in butter.
    Add potatoes and carrots. Add water to cover.
    Add seasonings.
    Simmer 1 hour.
    Liquify, heat and serve.
