Congo Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 cups sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    2/3 cups melted shortening
    2 1/4 cups brown sugar (1 lb package)
    1 cup chopped pecans
    1 8oz pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Melt shortening. add brown sugar.
    Stir until mixed.
    Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
    Pour into greased pan.
    Check after 15 minutes.
    Do not overbake. 350 degrees. 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 baking dish.
