Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. whole wheat flour
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 Tbsp. salt (use less if desired)
    1 1/2 to 2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
Combine dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Add buttermilk to make a soft dough.
Knead on a lightly floured board for 2 to 3 minutes (dough should be smooth).
Shape into round loaf and place in a well-greased 8-inch cake pan.
You also can use a cookie sheet.
Before placing in the oven, cut a cross on top of the loaf with a floured knife.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until the top is a warm brown.
    Let cool and slice thin.
Do not be concerned that the cross has formed an opening on the bread, this is as it should be.
