Chocolate-Almond Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1/3 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. toasted, slivered almonds
    1/2 c. chocolate chips
    1 Tbsp. Kahlua
Preparation
    Combine sugar, milk, butter and almonds in heavy pan.
    Cook over low heat, stirring gently until sugar dissolves.
    Cover and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes to wash down sugar crystals from sides of pan.
    Uncover and cook mixture to soft ball stage (238\u00b0), stirring constantly.
    Remove mixture from heat and stir in chocolate and Kahlua, if desired.
    Beat with a wooden spoon just until mixture begins to thicken.
    Working rapidly, drop mixture by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased waxed paper and let pralines stand until firm.
