Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    1 small can Pet milk
    1/2 stick butter
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Prepare cake according to package directions.
    Put 1/2 of batter in 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 15 minutes.
    Melt caramels, milk and butter on stove.
    After cake is done, sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over hot cake.
    Then pour caramel mixture over this.
    Pour rest of cake batter over this.
    Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Serve with Cool Whip.
