Apple-Cheese Dessert - cooking recipe

6 c. pared apple slices
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. unsifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2/3 c. finely shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Fill a 9-inch pie pan or shallow baking dish with apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice and 1/2 cup sugar.
Mix remaining sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon.
Mix in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in cheese.
Spread over apples.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes, or until apples are tender.
Serve warm or cold.
Serve with table cream or ice cream, if desired.
