Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs, separated
    1 qt. whole milk
    2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Pour milk into nonstick pan and heat slowly.
    Add salt.
    When milk is hot, add sugar, egg yolks (well beaten) and cornstarch that has been dissolved in 1/2 cup of the cold milk.
    Let mixture cook very slowly for about 20 minutes.
    Stir constantly.
