Slice And Bake Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening, butter or margarine
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. quick-cooking oats, uncooked
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine flour, soda and salt; stir well and set aside.
    Cream shortening; gradually add sugars, beat well, add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
    Add flour mixture; mix well.
    Stir in oats and pecans. Shape dough into two 12-inch rolls, wrap in wax paper, chill or freeze.
    Unwrap and cut in 1/4-inch slices, place on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Will be light brown.
    Yields 3 dozen.
    Tip:
    Work with chilled dough.
