Joe Froggers Yankee Magazine Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1/4 c. rum
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening; stir in molasses and rum.
    Add all dry ingredients and chill over night.
    Roll in balls the size of a walnut.
    (Roll in sugar.)
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Use a greased cookie sheet; bake time will depend on thickness, (10 minutes).
    Yield about 5 dozen.
    Good.
