24 Hour Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 qt. water
    1 pt. vinegar
    1/2 c. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. turmeric (optional)
    pickling spices
Preparation
    Wash and pack pickles in gallon jug.
    Pour brine over pickles and let stand 24 hours.
    Bring above mixture to a full boil. Place garlic cloves and dill in the jar.
    Pour brine over pickles and tighten lid on jar.
    Refrigerate jar after it is completely cooled.
