Ingredients

1/2 stick margarine
1 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. Karo syrup (white)
3 c. Rice Krispies
8 oz. pkg. dates
1 c. chopped nuts
1 whole egg
1 tsp. vanilla
enough powdered sugar or coconut to roll balls in
Preparation

Cook first 6 ingredients in heavy skillet for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies. Fold in vanilla.
Let cool.
Roll into balls, then in powdered sugar or coconut.
