Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or shortening
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 c. peanut butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 to 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Beat until soft the butter or shortening.
Add gradually and blend until creamy the brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Beat in egg, peanut butter, salt, baking soda and vanilla.
Add all-purpose flour.
Roll the dough into small balls.
Place them on a greased cookie sheet.
Press flat with a fork.
Bake about 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes about 60 (1 1/2-inch) cookies.
