French Crullers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. Crisco
    1 c. water
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt, Crisco and water in saucepan; heat to a brisk boil.
    Add flour all at once, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon.
    Beat until mixture forms a smooth ball that will leave the sides of the pan.
    Place in a bowl.
    Beat in eggs one at a time, then continue beating until mixture is smooth and shiny. Add vanilla.
    Chill mixture.
    Now force mixture through a pastry tube.
    Make into rings on oiled wax paper.
    Drop into hot oil at 380\u00b0 and brown on both sides.
    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
