Ingredients

3 c. brown sugar
3 c. butter
6 c. oatmeal
3 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking soda
Preparation

Put all this in a huge bowl and mash, knead, squeeze (the more the better), then form into walnut-size balls on ungreased cookie sheet.
Butter bottom of a small glass; dip it in granulated sugar and mash the balls flat.
Keep doing it (you need only butter the glass bottom once or twice, but re-dip it in sugar for each ball). Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.
Makes 15 dozen.
