Mom'S Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. cherries, cut in half (drain juice and save) *
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 unbeaten eggs
    3/4 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. nut meats
Preparation
    Cream sugar, eggs, margarine and almond extract until smooth. Add dry ingredients to cream mixture.
    Add milk.
    Fold in cherries and nut meats.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes or when tested, toothpick comes out clean.
