Miriam'S Marinated Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. vegetable oil
    1/2 c. wine vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 split clove garlic
    1 bay leaf
    1 lb. white mushrooms
Preparation
    Put all ingredients, except mushrooms, in large saucepan. Heat to boiling; simmer for 10 minutes, covered.
    Add mushrooms. Simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes.
    Transfer to bowl.
    Chill. Before serving, drain the marinade, remove bay leaf and garlic. Serve cold or at room temperature.
