Ingredients

1 c. chopped pecans/walnuts
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped candied cherries or pineapple
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 stick oleo, softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine pecans, dates, cherries and 1/4 cup flour, tossing well.
Cream oleo; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add egg; beat well.
Combine flour, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk, ending with flour.
Stir in fruit mixture.
Drop dough by heaping teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes or lightly browned.
Yields 4 dozen.
