Ingredients

1 c. rice
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
water
1 1/2 qt. milk
2 well beaten eggs
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 to 1 c. raisins, if desired
Preparation

Cover first three ingredients with 1/2-inch water.
Bring to boil.
Add milk.
Turn to medium.
When it boils, turn to low and simmer 30 minutes (covered).
Remove and let stand off burner for 20 minutes, covered.
