Nannie'S Beet Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 c. vinegar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. white Karo
1 gal. beets with 1/2-inch left on tops
Preparation

While working on the beets, mix all other ingredients together and let simmer.
Scrub beets well and boil until tender and skins start to peel.
Peel skins from beets and cut into chunks or slice.
Place beets into sterile jars and pour boiling syrup over them and seal.
