Christmas Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 oz. citric acid
    5 c. sugar
    2 qt. hot water
    1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice
    1 pkg. Wyler's wild strawberry drink mix
    1 tsp. red food color
    4 qt. cold water
Preparation
    Mix in glass container.
    Dissolve citric acid in 1/4 cup hot water.
    Dissolve sugar in 2 quarts hot water.
    Mix into sugar solution the Wyler's drink mix; cool.
    Add pineapple juice and cold water.
    Add food color gradually until desired color is achieved while stirring.
    May be frozen.
    If frozen, allow to thaw approximately 3 hours until slushy.
    Serves 50.
