Orange-Date-Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. dates, chopped
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. margarine
    1 egg
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. orange juice concentrate, thawed
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 1/2 oz. walnuts, chopped
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over the chopped dates.
    Stir until lukewarm.
    Beat in by hand margarine, egg, sugar and orange juice concentrate.
    Sift together dry ingredients, except nuts.
    Fold dry ingredients into date mixture.
    Add chopped nuts and blend thoroughly.
    Pour into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan sprayed with Pam and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 to 55 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    Cool in pan 5 minutes.
    Better if eaten immediately or frozen for later use.
    Yields 12 servings.
