Dorothy'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. soda, in 2 Tbsp. hot water
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins, softened in a little hot water and then drained
1 c. nuts
2 c. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla, lemon or both

Preparation

Mix brown sugar and cornstarch; add hot water.
Cook until clear and thickened.
Add vanilla, lemon or both to flavor sauce.
