Rolled White Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar (2 c. for small recipe)
    1 1/2 c. shortening (1 c. for small recipe)
    3 eggs (2 for small recipe)
    1 1/2 c. milk (1 c. for small recipe)
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla (1 tsp. for small recipe)
    12 c. flour (8 c. for small recipe)
    3 heaping tsp. baking powder (2 heaping tsp. for small recipe)
    3 small tsp. soda, dissolved in a little water (2 small tsp. for small recipe)
    1 tsp. salt (1/2 tsp. for small recipe)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, shortening, eggs, milk and vanilla.
    Add 4 cups flour, baking powder, soda and salt; mix well.
    Add remainder of flour by cupfuls until dough does not stick to finger.
