Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 c. hot water
    1/2 tsp. butter or oleo
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. raw peanuts
Preparation
    Put sugar, Karo and water in large pan.
    Cook until hard ball stage.
    Add peanuts and butter.
    Cook until syrup turns golden brown or until peanuts are golden brown, stirring constantly. Remove from fire.
    Add vanilla; stir, then add soda.
    Stir until mixture foams.
    Pour onto buttered cookie sheet.
    Let brittle cool.
    Break in pieces and store in airtight container.
