Cheese Strata - cooking recipe
Ingredients

10 slices bread (any kind), buttered on both sides
6 eggs
1 lb. bacon, cooked crispy and broken coarsely
4 1/2 c. milk or half and half
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dry mustard or 1 tsp. prepared mustard
1 lb. shredded yellow American/Monterey Jack cheese
Preparation

Butter a 9 x 13-inch glass, rectangular baking pan.
Add buttered bread to cover bottom and sides of pan, crusts along edge. (Do not break bread slices.)
Sprinkle cheese evenly over the bread.
Sprinkle crumbled bacon evenly over the cheese.
In a separate bowl, beat eggs, salt, pepper, mustard and milk.
Pour over bread, cheese and bacon to cover all.
Refrigerate overnight (at least 8 hours).
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Let set 5 to 6 minutes.
Serve hot.
Serves 10 to 12 people.
