Molasses Crinkles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. softened shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. molasses
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Mix first four ingredients thoroughly.
    Sift together remaining ingredients and stir in.
    Chill dough, roll into balls the size of large walnuts.
    Coat with granulated sugar.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 4 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
    If you underbake cookies they stay soft.
    If you overbake they become hard like gingersnaps.
