Clear Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. celery, diced
    1/4 c. carrots, diced
    1/4 c. onion, diced
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 sprigs parsley
    4 c. tomato juice
    1/2 tsp. white pepper
    6 whole cloves
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. thyme
    2 c. hot consomme
Preparation
    Saute celery, carrots and onion in butter for 5 minutes.
    Add rest of ingredients except consomme.
    Cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour; strain.
    Add hot consomme; reheat.
    Serve hot.
