Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 c. applesauce
3 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. raisins, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped

Preparation

Blend together shortening, salt and sugar.
Add eggs, then applesauce, alternately with sifted dry ingredients.
Stir in nuts, raisins and dates.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
