Southern Mexican Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
    salt and pepper
    3/4 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    3 jalapeno peppers, diced
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 (17 oz.) can cream-style corn
Preparation
    Brown seasoned chuck.
    Drain and set aside.
    Combine all other ingredients.
    Spoon 1/2 batter into 2-quart casserole that's been sprayed with vegetable spray, then pour browned chuck in topping with remaining batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
