Cranberry Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/2 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, cleaned and sorted
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In mixing bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
    Stir in orange juice, orange peel, shortening and egg.
    Mix until well blended.
    Stir in cranberries.
    Pour into a well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
    Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 55 minutes, then remove from pan and continue cooling.
    Freezes well. Makes 1 loaf.
