Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. softened margarine
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. pure vanilla
1 large egg
1/4 c. sour cream or Dannon plain yogurt
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips (one 12 oz. pkg.)
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Mix flour with baking soda and salt.
Cream butter.
Gradually beat in sugars and continue beating until light and fluffy.
Blend in vanilla, egg and sour cream (yogurt).
Gradually add flour mixture, beating until smooth.
Stir in chips and nuts (optional). Using rounded tablespoonful, drop onto ungreased (air insulated) baking sheets* 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
After cooling a few minutes, carefully remove from sheets and cool on flat surface.
Makes approximately 2 dozen large cookies.
