Turkey Chili - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 lb. ground turkey
1 Tbsp. margarine
2 cloves crushed garlic
2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 medium diced white onion
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. oregano
2 (14 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
1/4 c. chopped hot peppers (originally I used pickled hot pepper rings) or 2 Tbsp. chopped habanero peppers*
Preparation
-
In a 2-quart saucepan, with medium heat, saute onions, crushed red peppers, garlic and oregano in margarine until the onions are tender.
Add the hot peppers and then brown the ground turkey in this mixture.
Add the chili powder and mix thoroughly.
Then add the stewed tomatoes, chopping them with the spatula until they are broken up.
Simmer under low heat for at least 30 minutes.
