Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 stick butter
1 box raisins
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. buttermilk (or 1 1/2 c. milk with 2 tsp. vinegar; set aside)
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, combine first 5 ingredients.
Blend in butter with a pastry knife until the mixture has the consistency of meal.
Add raisins, eggs and buttermilk.
Mix thoroughly and turn out onto a floured work surface.
Knead lightly 12 times.
Lightly flour 2 (8-inch) round cake pans.
Divide mixture in half, pressing half of the dough into each cake tin.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Bake until golden brown (approximately 45 minutes).
