Sunday Night Potato Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
4 or 5 potatoes
3 to 4 c. milk
4 oz. American cheese
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 Tbsp. onion salt
6 slices sandwich ham
1/2 pkg. broccoli
Preparation
-
Dice potatoes into small pieces.
Cook until tender.
(Usually I cook with very little water, as vitamins are in the water the potatoes are cooked in.)
Add milk, cheese, onion and salt and pepper to taste.
(I also use 1/2 teaspoon Tony Cachere Creole seasoning.)
Cut ham slices into small pieces and add this and the broccoli.
Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve with crackers or ham sandwiches.
(We like our soup cheesy, so you can add to or take away cheese to your family's taste.)
