Blonde Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    2/3 c. oleo or butter
    2 c. packed, dark brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
    1 2/3 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
    1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1 tsp. shortening
Preparation
    Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
    Beat oleo or butter in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar and beat until well combined.
    Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
    Add the flour mixture to the beaten mixture. Beat at low speed just until combined.
    Stir in chocolate pieces and 1 cup nuts.
    Spread batter into pan.
    Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
