Old-Fashioned Lemonade - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
finely grated peel of 1 lemon
1 1/2 c. lemon juice
ice cubes
cold water
lemon slices
fresh mint leaves
Preparation

Measure sugar, water and peel into saucepan.
Stir constantly, bringing to a boil, for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool. Squeeze lemon juice and add it to cooled sugar mixture (this is now the lemonade syrup).
Pour syrup into container and cover tightly.
Can be kept in fridge 2 to 3 weeks.
When ready to serve, put 2 to 3 ice cubes in glass.
Pour 1/4 cup of syrup over cubes and add 3/4 cup cold water.
Stir.
