Evelyn Stauffer'S Hot Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 c. milk, scalded
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Dissolve the yeast and sugar in water. Set aside.
    To the scalded milk, add sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. In a large bowl, combine milk mixture and 2 cups flour.
    Mix well. Add yeast mixture.
    Add enough flour to make a soft dough that can be handled. Knead 5 minutes or so.
    Let rise until double.
    Make into rolls and let rise until double.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 until done (15 to 20 minutes).
    Makes 2 dozen.
