Syrup Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. syrup or sorghum
    1/2 c. butter
    1 egg
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add syrup, egg and sifted dry ingredients. Chill.
    Turn out on floured board and roll 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut out and place on greased baking sheet.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
