Yellow Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening (room temperature)
    1 c. milk
    2 eggs (unbeaten)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Measure sifted flour into sifter. Add sugar, baking powder and salt. Place shortening in mixing bowl. Stir just to soften. Sift in dry ingredients. Add 3/4 cup milk. Beat 2 minutes in mixer or 300 strokes by hand. Add eggs, vanilla and rest of milk. Beat 1 minute or 150 strokes by hand. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake in 375\u00b0 oven in oblong pan for 30 minutes. Use powdered sugar icing.
