English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or substitute
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Butter a 9-inch square pan.
    Combine butter and sugar in a small heavy saucepan and cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until thermometer reaches 310\u00b0.
    Quickly pour into greased pan.
    Cool.
    Melt 1/2 of the chocolate and spread over hard candy in dish.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 the chopped nuts.
    Cool until chocolate hardens.
    Turn onto waxed paper and spread remaining melted chocolate and nuts.
    Break into pieces.
