Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    scant 1/2 tsp. cloves
    3/4 c. shortening, melted
    1 c. molasses
    2 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Mix soda and buttermilk.
    Mix first seven ingredients together. Add soda, buttermilk and flour.
    Pour eggs over batter and stir. Bake at 350\u00b0 approximately 30 minutes.
    Serve warm with Thank You brand raisin pie filling, cold with lemon pudding or just plain.
