Vesta Fenton'S Pie Crust - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
1 Tbsp. salt
4 Tbsp. sugar
1 3/4 c. vegetable shortening (Crisco)
1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. white or cider vinegar
1 large egg
Preparation

In a large bowl, mix with fork the flour, sugar and salt.
add shortening and mix until crumbly.
In small bowl, beat water, vinegar and egg.
Add to flour mixture and stir until moistened. Divide into 4 to 5 portions. Shape each into flat circle. Wrap each in waxed paper. Chill at least 1/2 hour.
Lightly flour both sides. Roll out on lightly floured surface.
Makes 4 to 5 (9-inch) crusts.
Dough may be kept in refrigerator up to 5 days.
