Better Than Anything Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 pkg. yellow cake mix (without pudding)
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 (8 oz.) pkg. vanilla pudding
1 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) tub Cool Whip
1 can flaked coconut

Preparation

Mix and bake cake as directed in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
After cake cools, punch holes over entire cake.
Mix pineapple and sugar; heat until sugar dissolves.
Spoon over cooled cake while mixture is hot.
Prepare pudding according to directions; spoon over cake and chill.
When chilled, spread with Cool Whip; top with coconut.
