Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. water
    1/2 c. salt
    2 c. vinegar
    1/4 tsp. powdered alum
    1 tsp. dill seed
    1 toe garlic
Preparation
    Bring water, salt and vinegar to a boil.
    Put cucumbers in jars.
    Add alum, dill seed and garlic.
    Pour in boiled salt, water and vinegar.
    Seal jars.
