Raisin Spice Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 c. shortening, softened
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    2 c. Quaker oats (quick or old-fashioned)
Preparation
    Pour enough boiling water over raisins to cover them.
    Cover and let stand 10 minutes.
    Beat shortening and sugar together until creamy.
    Add eggs; beat until fluffy.
    Drain raisins, reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
    Dissolve soda in this liquid.
    Sift together flour, salt and spices.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with raisin liquid; blend well.
    Stir in raisins and oats.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
    Bake in preheated moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
