Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. chopped cabbage
    1 qt. chopped green tomatoes
    6 sweet green peppers
    2 large onions
    1/4 c. pickling salt
    1 1/2 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Chop cabbage,
    tomatoes,
    peppers and onions.
    Mix with salt and let stand
    3
    to
    4
    hours.
    Drain and remove as much water as possible.
    Boil
    vinegar, water, sugar and spices for 5 minutes. Add
    chopped
    vegetable
    mixture.
    Bring to a boil and pour into sterilized jars and seal.
