Sausage Stuffed Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Italian sausages
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    1 medium tomato, chopped
    1 (15 oz.) can chunky Italian style tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. aniseed
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1 (1 lb.) loaf French bread
    1/4 to 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, shredded
    coarsely ground pepper
Preparation
    In skillet, cook sausage until pink is gone.
    Set aside.
    In same skillet cook beef, onion and green pepper until beef is no longer pink.
    Drain; stir in tomato, tomato sauce and seasonings. Cut sausages in half lengthwise and slice; add to meat sauce.
    Cut a wedge out of top of bread (about 2 inches) wide and 3/4 of the way through loaf.
    Fill loaf with meat sauce.
    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and pepper.
    Wrap in heavy duty foil and bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through.
    Makes 6 servings.
