Currant Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 pkg. dry yeast
12 lb. flour
1 lb. butter
2 1/2 lb. lard
6 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. salt
5 lb. raisins
4 lb. currants
1/2 lb. citron, chopped
2 oz. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 box nutmeg
1/2 bottle Karo
Preparation

Clean, wash and dry raisins and currants.
Sift flour.
Mix in sugar, lard, butter and then add spices and fruit.
Mix all together.
Mix yeast in 2 cups of warm water; stir into flour. Measure 2 quarts hot water and add 1/2 bottle Karo.
Stir and mix a little at a time.
Knead together.
Let rise until double its size, covered in a warm pan.
