Mom'S Baked Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. Northern or navy beans (a little less than 2 c.)
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. molasses
6 Tbsp. brown sugar (a little less than 1/2 c.)
1/4 lb. bacon, cut up
4 c. cold water
onion, chopped up (if desired)
Preparation

We preboil the beans for a short time in baking soda in water to de-gas them and then rinse them off good.
As the beans are cooking for that short time, we throw all the ingredients into our crock-pot (and then add the beans).
Simmer on low all day or overnight for noon meal the next day.
Before serving, we sift in some flour to thicken them up.
