Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine (soft)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs (unbeaten)
2 c. blackberries with juice (1 lb. can)
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 heaping tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3 Tbsp. cocoa
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add unbeaten eggs, blackberries with juice and spices.
Mix soda with buttermilk.
Set aside and sift and measure flour.
Stir flour and buttermilk mixture alternately into creamed mixture.
Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
Frost with Caramel Frosting.
